The construction of IFMIF-DONES offers a unique opportunity to build a neutron time-of-flight facility in which to perform measurements of great interest to neutron science. The characteristics of this facility would be practically unique worldwide for certain types of measurements, mainly due to the very high intensity of the deuteron beam. With it, it is possible to obtain a very intense neutron source, in which the neutron flux produced is high even at great distances from the production target, which would allow measurements with an excellent neutron energy resolution. We have carried out calculations to determine the characteristics of the neutron beam produced: intensity, energy dependence, time resolution, etc. Using these results, we will show what kind of measurements could be made at this time-of-flight facility.
